We live in Vallecas now with the other Hermanas, Hermana Ferrari and Hermana Romero. It is SOOOOOO fun to live with Natives! Holy Moly it´s just a new world! I know Heavenly Father is helping me understand more than I ever have here. It´s like my ears have all of a sudden opened even more and I can understand others! It´s amazing.
I can´t even tell you how much peace I feel, it´s like Heavenly Father literally has lifted any and all hard things from my shoulders. Not that it´s easy, it´s still challenging, but I feel at peace like all the time. I feel like there is so much to do, but I know that the Lord is with me and helping me and my compañion. Who am I by myself? A 25 year old girl who doesn´t really know anything....but with what I DO know, I know that the Lord is blessing me even if I feel like I don´t know what I´m doing. I know that we really have been endowed with power as missionaries, it´s like you feel helpless alot of the time, but so full of power at the same time. I know that as I open my mouth, even if I don´t know what to say or how exactly to say it, the words just come out of me and I know it´s not me. And that is amazing, knowing where the source of power we have is literally coming from, from the Lord himself. I know we are just instruments and he´s blessing us with this privilege of helping move his great and marvelous work forward. I LOVE being a missionary!!!!!!! And I know that we need to expect miracles in order to see miracles.
Hermana Toone is SOO wonderful and such a beautiful and sweet girl! I love her dearly! We´ve been having a great time together! I hope you got all the pics :)
When we first got here, we had nothing! We literally have been starting from scratch, we made an area book, we finally were able to meet with the Bishop and the Relief Society President and now have a list of people we can stop by, of less active members and of people who need help. The ward is HUGE, compared to the other two wards I´ve been in and there are 10 missionaries here! That´s super new, but super awesome. There´s alot of work to do, so we´re excited to be here! We´ve just been contacting ALOT trying to find as many people as possible! We can take people to the temple but it´s not technically in our area....so it´s a little bit far for people to come to it, but it´s so cool to be able to tell people about it and that it really is pretty close! We meet in the church building right next to the temple so it´s so great to be able to see it at least once a week!
This last week we met this guy from Persia, named Jamshid. Oh my GOSH he is so wonderful! He´s been our first investigator. He had heard about our Free English classes that we offer and came and ended up staying for Noche de Hogar afterwards! We taught him 2 days later and he LOVED it! He told us that if he feels that our message is right that he will be baptized!!!!! We gave him a Book of Mormon, read Moroni´s promise in Moroni 10:4-5 and talked about how he could receive the answer for himself that this was the true church. He said he would read it and pray! Then, he came to 2 baptismal services that were on Saturday and he loved it and he came to church on Sunday!!! So....basically, we´re really excited :) He is so smart and really listens when we talk to him. It´s been amazing to see how Heavenly Father really does prepare people to hear and accept the Gospel. We also had this super cute member, Noemi, accompany us in the lesson and she was AMAZING! She´s waiting for her mission call right now but said that she wants to help us in lessons whenever she can. She is GENIAL!!!! (Awesome!)
Anyway, we´re seeing miracles everyday, even if they are really small, they are wonderful. The Lord knows us, He knows our hearts, He knows the desires and intentions of our heart and blesses us every day, in big ways and in small ways. I know we have to live worthy of the Spirit to recognize the promptings that come and to see the hand of the Lord in our life. I know that Christ is the Savior of the world and that God does exist, and that He is our loving heavenly Father. I know that this is the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have truth and we need to share that truth that we have!
I LOVE YOU! Thank you for being wonderful. YOU ARE DA BEST!
